Another sunny afternoon saw NICS travel to a tricky Salisbury green seeking a win against a team struggling at the bottom of the table.
Rink 1 saw Mark De Conink, Michael Bell, Ian Hutton and Brian Leonard take on T Hamilton, N Rox, D McKeating and J Warnock. The NICS boys got off to a bad start trailing 9-1 after 5 ends. Brian's boys responded to cut the deficit to 11-7 at 10 ends and the continued the fightback to trail 13-12 at 15 ends. The game ended 19-16 Salisbury, mainly thanks to Jimmy Warnock who single handed changed a number of heads resulting in a Salisbury point.
Rink 2 had John Mooney, Derek Brown, Freddie Murdock and Davy Hunter challenge B Anderson, D Bell, R Trimble and W Gallagher. A Good start saw the score 6-2 after 5 ends before teh lead was extended to 17-4 after 10 ends. The next 5 ends were even leaving it 20-8 at 15 ends and remained even over teh closing ends finishing 26-14.
Rink 3 saw Derek Forsythe, Billy McCullough, Artie Rice and Alan Montgomery face M Herdman, E Loughran, C Devlin and Terry Crawford. A quick start saw the score 5-3 after 5 ends, but Terry's rink responded to lead 9-8 at 10 ends. Al's rink replied to make the score 14-12 in NICS favour at 15 ends. the boys hung on to win 19-16.
Rink 4 saw Norman Shields, Chris Graham, JJ Leonard and Stanley Hegan take on T Higgins, R Smith, T Rock and B Watters. 4 3s before Salisbury scored made trhe score 12-1 NICS after 5. The dominance continued with the score 20-6 after 10 and 29-8 after 15. Nothing changed in the run in with the final score 35-12. Stanley remarked that he had an armchair ride, so we know the credit doesn't lie with him for such a fine win!!
